Thursday, January 06, 2011

Press release from the issuing company

Mel Printing Company, Inc. - a 50 year old Detroit, Michigan area based commercial printing and mailing company today announced their purchase of a new HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press. This purchase adds to the existing lineup of highend multi color print capability in both analogue and digital presses at the company.

Mel Printing Company, Inc. purchased the HP after an extensive testing period which confirmed it's features to be superior to other devices in both image quality and color consistency.

"Mel Printing Company, Inc. is excited about this new addition to our digital lineup. Print manufacturing is changing rapidly and Mel Printing Company, Inc. is committed to investing in the highest quality technology for our customers needs," said August Grebinski, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Mel Printing Company, Inc. "The HP Indigo 7500 is an example of our commitment to them."

High automation on print's leading edge

The top-of-the-line HP Indigo 7500 model offers:
- Intelligent Automation features that increase press productivity.
- The Vision System-developed by HP Labs, the company's central research arm-which automates manual calibrations and diagnostic troubleshooting to save time and reduce waste.
- Color consistency and uniformity improved by up to 20 percent, consumption of up to 10 percent less energy per printed page and reduced use of imaging oil.

The HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press is ideally suited to replace small and midsize analogue offset presses and to handle high-value applications, such as greeting cards, variable-data-driven marketing collateral, photo books and personalized direct mail. Available options for the press include a white ink upgrade for full-color printing on colored, transparent or metallic media, and additional light cyan and light magenta inks for six-color-process, high-end photo imaging. An optional thick substrate kit lets users print on folding carton stocks and other thicker media up to .18pt.

Progressive leadership in digital print adoption

"The HP Indigo 7500 presents a host of new possibilities in the shift from mass-produced, static and commoditised analogue offset manufacturing to high-value, offset-quality print-on-demand and personalization," said Jan Riecher, vice president and general manager, Graphics Solutions Business-Americas, HP. "Given their progressive involvement with digital printing, it comes as no surprise that Mel Printing Company, Inc is at the forefront of the industry with the adoption of this advanced commercial printing solution." said Nick Wagner, president, Printing Industries of Michigan.

Mel Printing Company, Inc. is the first South East Michigan company to invest in the newest high-end HP Indigo digital press. The company's production capabilities and the new HP Indigo press produces direct mail and commercial print jobs requiring offset- or photo-quality imaging and high ink coverage, including highly effective hybrid offset and digitally printed customized brochures for Fortune 500 companies.
