CHROMiX / HutchColor announce Curve2 awarded G7 Certified System status

Press release from the issuing company

Seattle, WA - CHROMiX and HutchColor announce Curve2 G7 curve calculation tool has been awarded IDEAlliance's new G7 Certified System status.

"The G7 System Certification Program is designed to evaluate the ability of a candidate system to calibrate a printing device to meet the G7 gray scale definition using four 1-D Curves" noted Joe Fazzi, VP of Media Production Technologies and Training with IDEAlliance.

"Curve2 is the successor of the original IDEALink Curve software that launched the G7 revolution" said Steve Upton president of CHROMiX and co-developer of Curve2. "we are please to see Curve2 recognized as a top quality G7 tool and all current users can be confident they've been using the same tool."

HutchColor and CHROMiX aided in the creation of the G7 System certification process along with other industry members. This announcement marks the launch of new G7 Certified System rating.

Award announcement coincides with new Curve 2 update release this week. Version 2.1 adds a number of features including: Virtual Press Run (VPR), OneRun target support and PressSync code support. VPR simulates press runs, generating curved color measurements for ICC profiling and saving thousands of dollars. The OneRun target combines the P2P and profiling targets into one, saving press sheet room and aiding G7 calibration of smaller presses.
