FOSTER CITY, Calif.--Sept. 29, 2003-- Electronics For Imaging, the world leader in imaging solutions for network printing, today announced the integration of Adobe's PostScript into the company's world renowned Best proofing products. This new integration enables EFI to bring its powerful proofing products to the publishing and packaging markets. Incorporating Adobe PostScript 3 makes it possible for EFI's Best proofing line of products to recognize and process PDF/X, PDF/X-1a and PDF/X-3 file formats. PDF/X is increasingly used in print production, especially for the "blind exchange" of digital advertising material, and is gaining acceptance in other printing environments. Additionally, the SWOP organization for publishing standards has designated the PDF/X-1a, and its predecessors, as one of the required file formats for web offset publication.
