Press release from the issuing company

Ramsey, N.J. – Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, today announced that the bizhub 423/363/283/223 Series of Monochrome MFPs has received the Good Design Gold Award 2010, organized by Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO).  Konica Minolta's bizhub 423/363/283/223 Series also won the Good Design Award 2010 Best15 – one of only 15 entries designated due to their overall excellence as part of 3,136 product and services award submissions this year.

Winners and nominees were honored on November 10th at the Tokyo Midtown commercial complex.  The bizhub 423/363/283/223 Series was recognized for receiving the Good Design Gold Award 2010 as a particularly outstanding entry among all the awarded entries.  Each of the 15 Good Design Award 2010 Best15 recipients gave presentations as nominees for the overall Good Design Grand Award 2010.

"We are delighted to be honored with the Good Design Gold Award for the first time," said Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc.  "Recognized with high remarks not only for the strength of unique design but also for our continued commitment to delivering high-quality design and software features gives customers more reasons to continue to count on Konica Minolta for their digital printing needs."

The Good Design Awards is a comprehensive program for the evaluation and encouragement of design since 1998 as organized by JIDPO, the organization involved in the comprehensive global promotion of design.  The parent organization is the Good Design Products Selection System, established in 1957 by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (the current Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry).  Approximately 35,000 products have been selected in continuation with these efforts.  This award activity is not merely a product fineness competition but an action to promote good design in society thereby improving the quality of life and encouraging sound industrial development at the same time.  This year, 3,136 products and services from multiple industries were submitted for consideration.
