CSV sees increased demand for certified material

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Press release from the issuing company

London-based project management company, Clear Sound & Vision Ltd. (CSV) has announced that they have seen a significant increased in demand from customers for certified material, in particular Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes (PEFC) certified packaging material.

The development follows CSV's production of the album sleeve for Brownswood Recordings' Havana Cultura Remixed presented by internationally renowned DJ Gilles Peterson, which was the first record sleeve to be produced on PEFC certified paper earlier this year.

The company was formed in 1997 and since then has worked predominantly within the music and film industries; managing and providing solutions for manufacturing of CDs, CD ROMs, DVDs, vinyl pressings and associated print, packaging and design. In recent years CSV has seen their client base extend both in and outside of the entertainment business. CSV works regularly with leading blue chip clients including Sony Music, EMI, Warner Music, O2 and Barclays.

Commenting on its latest project, CSV's Managing Director Clive Robins said, "Since the initial press coverage earlier this year, we've seen more and more clients embrace both the FSC & PEFC schemes through CSV, with those clients requesting the logo's on many of their products.  We've been actively promoting both schemes with our largest order, which is in production at the moment."

The latest CSV project is for Canadian folk artist "Loreena McKennit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loreena_McKennitt - The order is for 90,000 units of her latest album "The Wind that shakes the barley" which will be distributed through Europe and beyond, with the packaging for the CD produced on PEFC certified material.  "It appears to us that the music and media industries are and have been slow on the uptake with FSC & PEFC - our aim is to change that," said Clive.

As a major part of CSV's business is the provision of bespoke packaging solutions, the company has always been keen to demonstrate its strong commitment to using environmentally friendly products. In order to be able to provide its customers with assurances of responsibly sourced packaging materials, earlier this year the company recently achieved dual PEFC/FSC chain of custody certification. Chain of custody certification is the process by which wood-based products can be traced back to responsibly managed forests.
