Servex set to impact Spanish TransPromo Market with Kodak and Be'eri

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, N.Y. - Spanish print and marketing services company, Servex, is targeting the TransPromo sector after investing in a KODAK VERSAMARK VT3000 Printing System. The Madrid-based company – which was recently acquired by Israeli print giant, Be'eri Printers – considers the system integral to its future expansion.

Servex provides billing and direct marketing services, as well as document outsourcing to banks, insurers and technology companies. The 120-strong company operates 24/7 and has an impressive customer base that includes Caja Madrid, Banco Cetelem, Mapfre, BNP, Xtra Telecom and Bridgestone.

Be'eri Printers has provided mailing and personalized services in the Israeli market for 30 years. The company uses the most sophisticated printing technology on the market to meet its customers' stringent requirements. Be'eri Printers' leadership in its domestic market spurred the company to explore growth opportunities in other parts of the world.

Be'eri Printers' CEO, Harel Yitshaki, explains: "We'd been looking at Spain for a while and Servex was an excellent acquisition opportunity. The company's long-standing presence and strong reputation in the Spanish market made it a very attractive proposition."

The VERSAMARK System leaves its mark

Servex's MD, Alfredo Guardiola, says that Be'eri's first decision was to install a new printing system – the KODAK VERSAMARK VT3000 Printing System. The solution has been in operation since April and has had a big impact at the company: "The VT3000 has opened up some very exciting opportunities – we can now print more than 2.5 million A4 pages a day."

Yitshaki says that the VERSAMARK System was chosen because of the excellent results it has delivered at Be'eri: "We've been using the VERSAMARK System in Israel for many years and we're very comfortable with the technology. It made a lot of sense to transfer all the knowledge we've acquired to Servex. And the best way to do that is by using the same system in both production units."

Guardiola is in agreement: "The VERSAMARK System is a quantum leap forward in terms of quality as previously we couldn't provide color printing services, and it has boosted our production capacity. Be'eri's decision to install the system has provided peace of mind, and enabled us to enter the full-color TransPromo market."

The KODAK VERSAMARK VT3000 System has a proven track record in the industry. Its 9" printhead produces black and white as well as color print, and offers a variety of setting options, including up to 150 m/min speeds and 300 x 600 resolutions. It can also print on white paper web – something that some companies cannot do with traditional continuous transactional printing systems.

The VERSAMARK VT3000 System's printing unit uses inkjet technology, enabling four-color duplex printing on a wide range of pre-printed and blank paper, printing areas up to 455mm wide. The VT3000 can print 60 to 160 g/m2 paper and web from 200mm to 520mm wide.

Kodak Spain's Inkjet Printing Solutions Account Executive, Gerardo Codeso, comments: "Servex is ideally placed to enter the Spanish TransPromo market. The company has a cutting-edge printing system and it can turn to Be'eri Printing for expert advice. It's important to remember that Israel is way ahead of us when it comes to TransPromo."

Targeting growth

Yitshaki is confident Servex's investment in Kodak technology will hand the company a competitive edge and help it enter new markets: "The next step is to offer Servex customers and prospects a new range of products that take advantage of its color printing capabilities and unique finishing methods," adds Yitshaki.

Guardiola shares Yitshaki's view on Servex's expansion: "There are exciting growth opportunities ahead. The Kodak System enables us to offer more to our customers and add value – it has a key role to play in our future expansion."
