Agfa Boosts Prepress Productivity with New Automation Solution for :Xcalibur 45 CtP Platesetter

Press release from the issuing company

GRAPH EXPO (Booth #4041), Chicago, Illinois - September 28, 2003 - Agfa announced the addition of the new productivity-enhancing :PlateManager for its :Xcalibur 45 thermal platesetter. Being launched at Graph Expo, the :Xcalibur 45 becomes the latest Agfa CtP system - joining the thermal :Xcalibur VLF and the violet laser-based :Galileo - to have automated plate loading functionality. With the new :PlateManager, printers can maintain 250 (12 mil) plates in four cassettes online without sacrificing throughput. It can run unattended and features a manual plate override function. It has a small footprint, and can fit into virtually any printing environment. "The addition of :PlateManager to the :Xcalibur 45 makes an already productive system ever more attractive and functional," said David Furman, senior marketing manager, CtP systems, North America. "Current :Xcalibur 45 users can easily add :PlateManager to either a Manual or Job Level Automation system."
