Fry offers "Best of" interactive web companion for regional publishers

Monday, October 25, 2010

Press release from the issuing company

Mechanicsburg, PA - Fry Communications' Trifecta Interactive Productions team has developed a "Best of" Interactive Online Companion, showcasing winners of city and regional publishers' "best of the best" contests. The companion is published using Fry's LivePages platform. This rich, interactive, Flash platform gives readers exciting visuals, interactive content, video, animation, and access to social media revolving around the contest winners.

The prototype companion provides examples of "Best of" winner highlights via links to the advertiser's website or video. The robust reporting proprietary to LivePages provides hard ROI data to advertisers while simultaneously providing insight for the publisher concerning reader interest. Up-sell packages such as menus, coupons, and audio or video spots for advertisers make this a potential revenue source for publishers and a point of patron interaction for winners.

In addition, Fry provides publishers a sample rate card to use as a base to outline various advertising opportunities within the companion. The sample card helps publishers to determine what an interactive ad or sponsorship should cost and can be easily adjusted to reflect circulation figures.

" 'Best of' issues are an integral content property for regional publishers," said Steve Grande, Fry's VP of Sales. "We want to provide extended presentation capabilities beyond the print offering that expand the revenue possibilities while providing an enhanced presentation for both the advertiser and readership."

As an example, a "best" restaurants guide can easily show a tour of the establishment, a downloadable menu, an interview with the head chef, or a video presentation highlighting amenities of the venue. The varied opportunities provided to the "Best of" winners by the companion will open new doors to increased interaction with patrons and reestablish the "Best of" property as a tangible value to their business.
