Next generation of KIP wide format print production systems available through Toshiba

Press release from the issuing company

Irvine, Calif. – Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced the availability of two new decentralized wide format multifunction products (MFPs), aimed at entry level to mid-volume production use. The versatile new KIP 700 and 7100 set new standards for professional quality and performance with sophisticated feature sets previously only available on much more expensive MFPs.

"For our dealers and subsidiaries, the low entry level pricing, expanded feature set, simplified installation, extended maintenance cycles, and reduced training needs make these devices key to increasing placements, streamlining technical workflow, and generating greater profitability," said Joseph Contreras, director, Product and Solutions Marketing, TABS.

High Performance and Value
The KIP 700 and 7100 both deliver fast and accurate printing with 600 x 600 dpi resolution quality, and offer users the ability to print documents from a variety of storage locations directly from the innovative KIP color touch screen. With an easy-to-use screen that clearly guides users through system operations, less training is needed.

For the ultimate in document workflow management, both new KIP devices are fully color-enabled to scan, file and copy to inkjet printers. Additionally KIP Color Advanced provides users with features to optimize color copy, print, and scan workflows while simultaneously reducing costs. For greater convenience and precise control in demanding color environments, KIP Color Advanced may be accessed directly at the KIP touch screen.

The web- and PC-based KIP Software Suite provides total administrative control of the copy, print and scan process with unlimited software seat licenses. Meanwhile, integrated cost reporting provides valuable, automated data reports related to past and future printing costs by user, department, project or customer, helping to turn expenses into revenue, and reduce operational costs.

Smart Eco2 Design
Both devices are Energy Star qualified, have compact, single footprints, recyclable organic drums and 100 percent toner efficiency with zero waste removal and a high percentage of recyclable parts (97 percent on the KIP 7100.)

Security
KIP 7.2 Software includes the Department of Defense National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) specifications to delete, or overwrite, all image data after a print, copy or scan job has been completed. The software used by the KIP 700 and 7100 ensures that all image data can no longer be accessed using a data recovery device. Both devices also feature network authentication.

The Ideal Environments
The KIP 700 is the perfect solution for placement in low-volume print environments where the high cost of inkjet operation has been favored because of the low capital cost. The print speed, high-quality and expandable production options of the KIP 7100 make it perfect for placement in printing environments where peak demands and timelines for set distribution are critical. Both the KIP 700 and 7100 are ideal for marketing to facilities management, architecture/engineering/construction (AEC), government, manufacturing and utilities markets.
