RISO declares Graph Expo 2010 breakthrough production-color inkjet event

Press release from the issuing company

Danvers, MA – RISO, Inc., a leader in digital full-color inkjet printing technology, announced today that Graph Expo 2010 was an exceptional success in terms of sales, inkjet product-line interest, awards, and non-profit industry leadership.

"Inkjet is hot. As the only manufacturer of high-speed full-color cut-sheet inkjet printing systems, we saw an incredible level of interest in our ComColor product line at Graph Expo," said Todd Deluca, President and COO of RISO Inc. "In addition to a wide array of over twenty-five print applications, RISO drew interest from commercial printers, service bureaus, direct mail shops, and quick printers with the Transpromo+MICR customer loyalty statement and high-speed variable data envelope printing solutions we featured." RISO also presented the results of an independent INTERQUEST direct mail study that declared equivalent response rates for matte inkjet and glossy toner-based postcards at the Xplor Document University forum, and received independent encore recognition for its innovative full-color production inkjet product line.

The RISO ComColor 9050 was one of only four products to receive an encore "Worth a Look" award for full-color production printing as a follow-up to the Must See 'em awards at Print '09. The Must See 'em recognition program, part of the Executive Outlook Conference, highlights Graph Expo's most unique, innovative and compelling products and services. The Must See 'em awards are presented to products and technologies that exemplify compelling innovation in the graphic communications industry.

RISO also hosted the first ever EDSf 'Give Back At Graph' fund raising event. For the Electronic Document Scholarship Foundation, RISO printed hundreds of catalogs, bidding paddles, table seating cards, and signage, and thousands of invitations on the ComColor 9050 before and during the show in support of EDSf's 'Give Back at Graph' fundraising evening. The event raised over $105,000 to provide higher-education scholarships to help students pursue careers in the document management and graphic communications industry. Brenda Kai, EDSf's executive director stated, "RISO did an outstanding job of hosting this first-ever fund raiser for EDSf, donating hundreds of hours in the planning, promotion, and production of full-color inkjet printed materials. Our students and the foundation recognize and appreciate RISO's outstanding efforts."

The ComColor high-speed inkjet printer employs RISO's innovative FORCEJET imaging system and robust Piezo drop-on-demand technology, with speeds of 150 pages per minute, running costs averaging 1-3 cents per page for transpromo and ½ cent for envelopes, and a realistic duty cycle of 500,000 pages per month. Intended for applications such as transactional statements, direct mail, book printing, and low-cost marketing collateral material, the 9050 is the fastest full-color cut-sheet inkjet printer in the world. RISO production inkjet printers offer users productivity, versatility, cost containment, and environmentally friendliness.
