WoodWing surprises visitors of IFRA Expo 2010 with many new announcements

Press release from the issuing company

Zaandam, The Netherlands – WoodWing Software, one of the innovation leaders in multi-channel publishing, was one of the biggest attractions at the IFRA Expo 2010, which took place in Hamburg, Germany, last week. Under the theme "Multi-Platform Tablet Publishing Made Easy", WoodWing presented its Digital Magazine Solution as part of WoodWing's cross-media publishing system Enterprise.

During the entire show, WoodWing's booth was extremely well-attended by visitors from Europe, the USA and Asia. They were very interested to learn about WoodWing's experiences after nine months of tablet publishing, with more than 55 titles now available. The widely acclaimed daily iPad editions of the renowned German daily Frankfurter Rundschau received a lot of attention, and during the show, AUTO BILD, Europe's largest car magazine published by the publishing house Axel Springer in Germany, went live with weekly iPad editions using WoodWing's Digital Magazine Tools.

IFRA premiere: Multi-screen tablet publishing
At the IFRA Expo 2010, WoodWing announced that its Digital Magazine Tools will offer multi-screen support, enabling publishers to efficiently create content for various tablet devices with different screen sizes and aspect ratios. To illustrate this, WoodWing showed the first results on the Samsung GALAXY Tab.

Another scoop of WoodWing at IFRA: New Newsfeed Publisher for tablet editions of newspapers
At the IFRA Expo, WoodWing also introduced a new Newsfeed Publisher module that has been added to Content Station, the content-management module of WoodWing's publishing system Enterprise. The Newsfeed Publisher enables newspaper publishers to efficiently create and manage newsfeeds for their iPad editions. Both live newsfeeds as well as issue-based feeds are supported to allow several outputs each day, like a morning, lunch and evening edition. WoodWing's Content Delivery Service is used to serve the feeds to tablet devices throughout the world.

IFRA Expo 2010 an outstanding success for WoodWing
"At IFRA 2010, we focused on the hottest topic in the publishing industry – tablet publishing," said Erik Schut, President of WoodWing Software. "A large number of vendors traveled under that label, but obviously the visitors already heard about our strong track record in the field of iPad publishing. We are more than satisfied with the turnout, and we are even more pleased about the high proportion of new customers. I heard from some of our solution partners supporting us at the booth that they already received new orders."

Visitors on the impact of tablets on the publishing business
Together with its new technology partner VidiGo, a developer of innovative solutions for creating and managing broadcast-quality audio and video content, WoodWing interviewed visitors at IFRA on how tablets and tablet publishing will affect their business.
