Paper Life Cycle has new certification content

Press release from the issuing company

Metafore, a program of GreenBlue, has published the latest of its ongoing updates to the Paper Life Cycle website "Introduction to Certification" available at www.thepaperlifecycle.org. The introduction includes an overview of major certification systems, perspectives from a variety of stakeholders, and current events impacting certification worldwide.

The "Introduction to Certification" is also supplemented by a one-of-a-kind Forest Certification Matrix that allows readers to view the main elements, such as, governance, accreditation, verification and more, of the five most widely recognized forest certification systems in one easy to read table. The systems include the American Tree Farm System (ATFS), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC), and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI).

The Paper Life Cycle is a multi-stakeholder initiative developed in collaboration with industry associations, manufacturers, paper buyers, academic institutions and NGOs. The website provides an overview of the key issues throughout the paper supply chain, covering topics such as:
- Climate change
- Forest practice management
- Recycling
- Illegal logging
- Energy use
- Product performance

Forest trend reports, white papers, case studies and fact sheets are available to download and users can access regular updates and expert opinion on the latest industry news.
