New York – The Board of Directors of Integrated Color Solutions (ICS), the leader in monitor proofing systems, announced today the promotion of Dan Caldwell to president. Caldwell, a graphics industry veteran, joined the company in 2001 to help guide ICS technology to market.  He was appointed vice president of operations in 2003. In his new role, Caldwell will oversee sales and marketing as well as the daily operation of the company.

“Dan’s unique experience with both color technology and the graphic arts industry makes him an ideal leader for our company,” said CEO Jeffrey Silverman. “We are confident that Dan’s expertise and industry knowledge will enable ICS to remain in the forefront of the development of new color technologies.”

Previously Caldwell was co-founder of Color Solutions, the company best known for its ColorBlindÔ product line, where he served as its vice president. Dan led the team at Color Solutions that pioneered, designed and marketed much of the color management technology and RGB document workflows used by the graphic arts industry today.

During his tenure at ICS, the company has invented and patented the concept of color accurate verified remote proofing by introducing both the first certified proof using a computer monitor and the first use of a monitor utilized for proofing in a pressroom. Remote Director and its new companion product, Press Director, continue to simplify color management, preview and collaboration while also ensuring accurate color and content for a variety of creative products.

Caldwell has more than 20 years experience in the prepress and graphics industry. His experience with color reproduction ranges from camera separations to the desktop, including the original drum scanners in the 1970s. After six years as a pre-press manager in the Los Angeles Division of RR Donnelley, he co-founded one of the fastest growing color trade shops in Southern California in the mid-1980s. When the desktop revolution swept the industry, Dan used his industry experience to design and market software for color control in graphic reproduction.
