Pro-Mail helps Telerx to Attract New Fulfillment Customers

Press release from the issuing company

Rocky Hill, CT - Software Marketing Associates announced today that Telerx, a Merck & Co. subsidiary, has entered into a licensing agreement to use its Pro-Mail suite of direct-marketing and fulfillment software solutions to help the Pennsylvania Company further grow its fulfillment business.

Founded in 1981, Software Marketing Associates (SMA) is the purveyor of Pro-Mail, the nation's top custom-tailored fulfillment and management software for the commercial printing, direct-mail and fulfillment industries.

"Top-shelf companies like Telerx make a business decision only after having done their homework and weighing what's in their customers' and their own best interests," said Denise Lunden, SMA President. "Given that fact of life, SMA is obviously pleased that Telerx has selected Pro-Mail, and the people who stand behind it, to help win over new business. Our company is especially gratified knowing that Telerx was in part attracted to and chose Pro-Mail because of its cloud computing option, another feature that distinguishes Pro-Mail from the field."

Based in Horsham, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia, Telerx operates a call center in Wilkes-Barre where it handles, chiefly in behalf of a number of large food manufacturers, a fulfillment business focused on coupon mailings and sending related brand items to consumers.

"Our Wilkes-Barre business had been holding its own, but we knew that additional growth was bumping up against a ceiling," said Linda Pisaturo, vice president of Operations. "We were handling fulfillment using a management system not ideally suited for that purpose, and missing out on opportunities for that reason. But as much as we understood our limitations, we also understood what we were in need of to bring business along," continued Linda.

Telerx had specific need for a fulfillment management system whose capabilities could, when customized, include Client Access Portals (storefronts), CC processing tools for e-commerce sites, order processing automation, auto e-mail generation, and a strong suite of reports. So armed, the company would be able to efficiently and profitably take on types of customers it heretofore couldn't.

As Telerx's Linda Pisaturo explains, "After SMA listened carefully to what we wanted, once convinced that Pro-Mail would help us manage inventory more accurately and that the system could be easily and directly integrated with our existing CRM systems and thereby reduce manual data input; in a nutshell, we were sold that going this route made sense for our customers and for us. And the idea that Pro-Mail can and will be adapted to meet our changing needs was a strong plus in SMA's favor."

Telerx is taking advantage of Pro-Mail's cloud computing option that facilitates easy implementation for current fulfillment customers, provides reliability and scalability needed to grow business and which, concurrently, frees up internal IT resources previously devoted to fulfillment.

"There's no question but that our company plans on using Pro-Mail as a sales tool to obtain more business," said Linda.

Telerx is one of more than 200 client companies that place their trust in SMA and Pro-mail. Every day they depend upon Pro-Mail to seamlessly handle literally thousands of distinct fulfillment programs managed on behalf of Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies, among others.
