HP Powers Global Cloud Print Service for HubCast Inc.

Press release from the issuing company

Palo Alto, Calif.,  – HP is sponsoring a trial program from Wakefield, Mass.-based HubCast Inc. designed to expand enterprise businesses’ familiarity with the high-quality, fast-turnaround print-on-demand capabilities print service providers (PSPs) can offer when using HP Indigo digital color presses.

HubCast’s Cloud Print Service uses proprietary distribute-and-print technology to manage a global network of HP Indigo equipped PSPs that can offer quick turnaround times – often next-day delivery – for submitted jobs. Documents submitted to the service are routed to the Cloud Print Service PSP site nearest the final delivery point and printed on demand, minimizing costs associated with shipping, overruns and waste while significantly reducing carbon emissions associated with air freight.

The HP-sponsored Cloud Print Trial program is open to North American enterprises, which are invited to upload and print one of their documents for delivery anywhere in the HubCast coverage area. HP’s sponsorship will be used to cover printing costs for thousands of these sample prints.

“The industry-leading consistency, reliability and true offset quality of HP Indigo digital presses give global networks like HubCast the ability to offer high-value color documents that are consistent and correct no matter where they are printed,” said Alon Bar-Shany, vice president and general manager, Indigo division, HP.

HubCast’s PSP network can deliver printing in 135 of the world’s top markets; in 70 of those markets, HubCast network members offer next-day delivery.

Saving enterprises real money
Using HubCast to order approximately 8,000 pieces of printed collateral each month, San Jose, Calif.-based Cypress Semiconductor has eliminated $1,000 a month in warehousing costs, as well as the sizable shipping expenses and customs-related delays that once hampered its ability to support its 195 worldwide sales representatives.

HubCast’s emphasis on HP Indigo print-on-demand ensures that collateral meets Cypress’ brand requirements and allows Cypress to stop producing wasteful overruns of print collateral to meet the minimum run-length requirements of offset printers.

“We have made a 100 percent move to HubCast’s Cloud Print Service,” said Jon Atterbury, senior marketing communications manager, Cypress Semiconductor. “HubCast enables us to be more responsive to the needs of our sales force, ultimately saving us money.”
