As an NGP Partner, DiMS! will work with leading industry vendors to build solutions using JDF and other open file standards to deliver fully integrated “cross-vendor” solutions that help printers cut costs, increase revenues, decrease cycle times, and reach more customers. This strategic initiative is helping the print industry create more efficient businesses—from idea to delivery. Parallel Visions of Integration Integration and the seamless flow of information throughout the production process have always been at the forefront of DiMS!’ system philosophy. As the first company to provide a completely integrated management system package, with unique features such as a total, Web-enabled workflow and integration with e-commerce, joining the NGP program is a logical extension of DiMS! efforts, and a valuable partnership with a group of industry leading companies who shares the same vision of integration. "From the beginning, we have recognized the need for open standards to enable workflow efficiencies. In addition to having a 100% Web-enabled system with an Oracle database at the back end, strong XML-based integration tools have existed within DiMS! for many years – enabling full system integration and interfacing capabilities with 3rd party suppliers,” said Gerard Marneth, CEO, DiMS! organizing print. “In an effort to stay on the leading edge and contribute our expertise with open platforms and system integration to the development of standardized protocols, DiMS! is a full member of CIP4. And now, by joining the NGP program, we openly welcome the opportunity to collaborate with other NGP Partners, such as Creo, and essentially we see it as a formalized extension of the JDF functionality that is already an integral part of our system,” Marneth added. Delivering Value to the Printing Industry DiMS!’ smooth information flow and end-to-end integration eliminates wasted time re-keying critical data into the system; allows users to effortlessly perform core functions such as data collection, job tracking and order fulfillment; and facilitates the creation of comprehensive analyses and management reports pertaining to collected performance data. The end result is increased productivity achieved through the seamless, bi-directional flow of information between DiMS!’ MIS and the production process. By joining the NGP Partnership program, DiMS!’ is dedicated to integrating with leading prepress solutions from this group of leading suppliers and will make significant momentum toward our vision of a completely automated printing plant. Through our joint development efforts, knowledge sharing and commitment to flexible, open standards across the industry, we are striving toward an unprecedented level of integration that will enable printers to control costs, boost efficiency and maximize profitability.
