Velocity Print Solutions receives G-7 Master Printer qualification

Press release from the issuing company

Middlebury, CT – Velocity Print Solutions announced today the achievement of G-7 Master Printer Status, making them one of a few qualified G-7 (Gracol-7) Master Printers in Connecticut. The G-7 Master qualification mark means the company uses the most modern technology, techniques, proofing and press controls, and standards required to produce a close visual match from proof to print, and from one G7 press to other G7 presses. "Being G7 qualified means that we can have greater control over our quality, reductions in our make-ready and excellent proof-to-press matching," said Jim Stiles, CEO of Velocity Print Solutions.

In 1996, a graphics arts task force was formed by the Graphic Communications Association (now IDEAlliance) to develop a document containing general guidelines and recommendations that could be used as a reference source across the industry for quality color printing. Since that time, the GRACoL Working Group has developed, maintained and published printing guidelines that have become de facto standards on many pressrooms.

The mission of GRACoL is to improve communications and education in the graphic arts by developing best practices that reflect the influence and impact of new technologies in the workflow of commercial offset lithography. GRACoL is a registered trademark of IDEAlliance.
