HP recognized as a leader in 2010 Managed Print Services by analyst firm report

Press release from the issuing company

Palo Alto, Calif. – HP today announced industry analyst firm Gartner, Inc. has placed HP in the Leaders Quadrant in its 2010 Magic Quadrant for Managed Print Services (MPS) Worldwide.

In the Gartner Magic Quadrant report, HP was evaluated on its completeness of vision as well as its ability to execute.

Gartner classifies leaders as organizations that "provide MPS to a wide range of customers, including the largest and most geographically dispersed, so they must demonstrate a truly global reach. They must demonstrate not only the skills to deliver today's MPS, but also the understanding, initiative and resources to prepare for tomorrow's MPS. Leaders characteristically augment the full scope of MPS with a wide range of added-value services. As a result, they are frequently shortlisted by large and midsize customers."

In this year's analysis, Gartner noted, "Buyers should seek to benefit from their MPS providers' industry-specific expertise to incorporate their documents in electronic processes. By seeking to enlarge the scope of their MPS this way, organizations can maximize cost savings and process improvements."

HP MPS is a flexible, scalable offering that provides organizations a clear path for turning their print ing and imaging environments into vital, value-added assets that drive business growth. With one of the industry's broadest portfolio of products, solutions and services, HP helps customers improve workflow and maximize results so they can meet their business and environmental objectives.

"We believe today's industry analyst recognition further demonstrates the effectiveness of our MPS offering and highlights our commitment to helping customers succeed," said John Johasky, vice president and general manager, Managed Enterprise Solutions, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. "Whether organizations are seeking to enhance productivity, streamline complex processes or accelerate business results, HP MPS creates a strategic advantage for those who embrace it."

Customers in a range of industries – from financial, retail and manufacturing, to healthcare and the public sector – are using HP MPS to cost-effectively improve workflows.

PerkinElmer, a global leader focused on improving the health and safety of people and their environment, is experiencing significant gains from its HP MPS investment.

"HP MPS has completely changed the landscape. We've drastically reduced the number of devices, gained multifunction efficiencies and freed staff time," said Andrew Lancaster, manager, IT Support and Client Technology, PerkinElmer, Inc. "What's more, the solution brings visibility to usage patterns and costs that never were visible before."
