Nine organizations earn Subscribers Rule awards for interactive marketing innovation

Indianapolis – Interactive marketing solutions providers ExactTarget and CoTweet named the industry's top nine interactive marketing programs today with the 2010 Subscribers Rule Awards.

Selected from nominations from ExactTarget and CoTweet clients worldwide, the annual Subscribers Rule Awards recognize the industry's top interactive programs for their commitment to honor customer preferences, improve subscribers' lives and for delivering relevant content.

This year's award winners include:
- Hotels.com (Program of the Year Award) – increased open rates with triggered email campaign.
- Best Buy (Targeting and Relevance Award) – created personalized email program featuring product recommendations based on purchase history and loyalty club information.
- Crocs (Digital Evolution Group client) (Permission-based List Growth Award) – increased global email list size with SMS and email campaign.
- Graeter's Ice Cream (Hyperdrive Interactive client) (Best Integrated Social Award) – increased sales and transactions with cross-channel promotions across email, Twitter and Facebook.
- Florida Power and Light (Best Email Design Award) – increased click through and open rates with redesigned email drip campaign.
- Hoosier Lottery (Best Mobile Campaign Award) – increased sales and subscriber base with winning number and jackpot mobile alerts.
- XMpie (Xerox) (Embedded Partner of the Year Award) – embedded email platform for users of XMpie's cross-media software.
- Metrics Marketing Group (Reseller Partner of the Year Award) – 6-year ExactTarget reseller nationally recognized for translating data into rich customer insights.
- Citi Bank (CoTweet Social CRM Award) – launched multi-user and multi-account Twitter engagement effort to provide news and customer service to customers worldwide.

The awards are the namesake of ExactTarget's Subscribers Rule philosophy that's aimed at educating marketers on the importance of respecting subscriber preferences when sending marketing messages. The Subscribers Rule philosophy consists of three simple tenets:
- Serve the individual
- Honor their unique preferences with regard to communication, content, frequency and channel
- Deliver them timely, relevant content that improves their lives

Companies received their awards on the main stage of ExactTarget's annual user conference Connections '10, the world's largest gathering of interactive marketers. More than 2,000 are attending the three-day conference in Indianapolis that features addresses by Sir Richard Branson, Twitter Chief Operating Officer Dick Costolo and more than 35 interactive breakout sessions ranging from marketing best practices to building interactive marketing campaigns.
