W2P Specialist UPrinting.com Expands Production Capacity with Mitsubishi Diamond 3000S

Press release from the issuing company

Los Angeles - Targeted equipment acquisitions are integral to the ability of web-to-print pioneer UPrinting.com to provide quick turnarounds on high-quality products at the lowest possible prices. The addition of a five-color Mitsubishi Diamond 3000S sheetfed press with aqueous coater will help ensure an online printing experience that is seamless, fast and hassle-free.

"This is our second Mitsubishi press," observed Ronnie Mesriani, founder and CEO. "We installed a four-color Diamond 3000S in 2008, and we've been completely satisfied with the print quality and reliability of Mitsubishi technology. Our customers rave about the quality of our printing on a daily basis."

Established in 1985 in Los Angeles, UPrinting.com was built around a corporate culture of entrepreneurship and hard work. The entire management team is composed of self-starters who get the job done.

One of the first print service providers to see tremendous opportunities in online printing, UPrinting.com caters to clients ranging from small companies to global giants. The 82-employee firm's digital and sheetfed offset presses produce corporate identity packages, brochures, postcards, catalogs and other diverse business materials. Large-format offerings include posters and banners for indoor and outdoor display purposes.

Support services, such as design and direct mailing, enable small businesses to maximize their print investment. U-Page gives customers versatile customization options while maintaining UPrinting.com's fast turnarounds and affordable gang prices. Other programs, like UPrinting.com's full range of online proofing options, further automate printing processes.

UPrinting.com looks for a high degree of automation in hardware and software that the company purchases. For instance, its two 40-inch Diamond 3000S presses feature auto-presets, wash-up systems, console-controlled functions and automated color management.

"The Diamond 3000S is a fast and efficient press," Mesriani said. "Our goal was to quickly expand our production capacity without sacrificing quality, so the Diamond 3000S was the natural choice. Mitsubishi definitely understands the needs of commercial printers and creates solutions that help us do more with less. The sales and support teams have been very good about working to meet our needs."

A major timesaver added to the new press is Mitsubishi's SimulChanger plate-changing system. SimulChanger removes old plates and mounts new plates at every unit simultaneously in just over one minute.

"The fast setup time was key in our decision to equip the press with SimulChanger," Mesriani said. "The Diamond 3000S with SimulChanger is extremely good at printing any project in a shorter run by cutting down production time."

UPrinting.com generated $18.7 million in revenues in 2009. The company expects to surpass $25 million in sales for the 2010 fiscal year.

"We are in the process of introducing as many as 10 new products that we are very excited about," Mesriani said. "In addition, this press acquisition is the first of many as we expand our production capacity to meet the ever-growing demand of our clients."

More equipment purchases are included in UPrinting's growth strategy.
