Xerox expands wide format print tools; earns industry recognition

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, N.Y., – Xerox Corporation has introduced new software and enhancements to its FreeFlow Accxes print server – making it easier and faster to produce documents such as complex engineering renderings and topographical maps.

The software tools include the new Xerox FreeFlow Accxes Copy and Indexer, as well as upgrades to Xerox FreeFlow Accxes print server. Each gives users the productivity boost and image quality required to deliver crisp, detailed wide format documents.

Underscoring the strength of Xerox's wide format systems, BERTL awarded the company's 6622, 6279, and 6605 devices five-star exceptional ratings for their superior performance, citing ease of use and outstanding scanned image quality.

"Xerox's diverse set of black-and-white wide format products meets user demands for image quality, productivity, workflow flexibility and ease of use," said Arthur Wynne, president, BERTL, Inc. "These systems are crucial to the success of the architectural, engineering and construction markets and the print providers that serve them."

The following enhancements help printers efficiently manage their wide format applications:

- FreeFlow Accxes Copy – the software, fully integrated with Xerox scanning systems, allows color copies to be produced on most wide format or narrow format color printers, when large format versions aren't required. For example, users can scan a large construction plan on a monochrome wide format device and print in color on a connected office multifunction system.

- FreeFlow Accxes Indexer – makes key documents easier to find for scanning bureaus, print-for-pay businesses and legal offices with large volumes of documents. This software allows users to apply a name such as "Hospital Engineering Plan" to a 20-page document and enter it just once. The software also offers a built-in image editor to "clean up" documents that exhibit poor quality.

- FreeFlow Accxes Print Server – scans to and prints from a USB storage device in seconds. Also, a new enhanced queue management and file naming/indexing allows for advanced workflow flexibilities to help jobs move efficiently through the shop.

Xerox will showcase its wide format portfolio at Graph Expo 2010, Oct. 3 – 6 in Chicago.
