Markzware announces PUB2ID upgrade v3

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Press release from the issuing company

Santa Ana, California - Markzware, the leading developer and inventor of patented preflighting technology and content conversion today announced an upgrade to PUB2ID, its popular conversion solution to convert Microsoft Publisher to Adobe InDesign for both Macintosh and Windows. PUB2ID v3 adds full support for Adobe CS5 Creative Suite.

"With PUB2ID, it is possible to bring all of your old MS Publisher documents into the Twenty-first century and open them magically and painlessly in Adobe InDesign," said Michael Shaw, MaUsE president, editor, MaUsE DoubleClick.

PUB2ID (Publisher to InDesign) is a plug-in for Adobe InDesign CS5 or CS4. It provides a quick, easy and affordable method for you to convert Microsoft Publisher content into new Adobe InDesign documents. The file conversion is enabled with a single click using the InDesign File->Open menu. No more re-creating documents from scratch; PUB2ID gives you a big head-start.

PUB2ID translates many details of the content within Microsoft Publisher documents and quickly re-creates the document in InDesign. It can convert Publisher files including items such as page size, positioning, color correction, fonts and styles, text attributes and tables, text formatting effects, text wrap, layers, text flow, linked text boxes as well as automatic image extraction of all images embedded in the Publisher file.

All Desktop Publishing applications have their own, unique methods of text rendering and graphical representation. Therefore, text flow and certain graphical elements will not be 100%. Depending on the use of custom kerning, tracking, leading, graphic formatting and effects, etc., more or less rework may be required, but some rework will always be required. We suggest that all converted documents are proofed before output.
