ACUP to organize as Non-Profit

Press release from the issuing company

The Association of College & University Printers (ACUP) a long-time all volunteer organization has announced that it will officially incorporate as a 501(3)( c) non-profit organization. ACUP, which is an association of Higher Education In-plant printers, is best known for its conferences, which have been held annually for the last 44 years. The conferences have always been hosted by a volunteering university In-Plant printing operation. A recent polling of Higher Education In-Plant Managers and Directors reflected a desire for ACUP to become a formal organization for the continued benefit of its members. The current ACUP Board of Directors has met and by unanimous vote have approved moving forward with the official incorporation.

ACUP will be organized with Tom Tozier as Executive Director and Jennifer Bowers as Administrative Director with the oversight of the ACUP Board. Tom, formerly of the University of Colorado, ACUP past president and conference host (2007), and Jennifer, formerly of the Florida State University, ACUP past president and conference hostess (2008), have long standing in the Commercial & Higher Education printing industry.

The ACUP Board is planning to hold a conference in the spring of 2011. More details will be released as ongoing plans unfold.
