ppi Media to present new products at the IFRA Expo 2010

Press release from the issuing company

From October 4 to 6, ppi Media will be presenting new solutions for mobile media at Stand 4.430, Hall 4 at the IFRA Expo in Hamburg. Along with groundbreaking concepts for e-readers and application development the Hamburg-based software company will be presenting new developments in its Publishing Solutions, products for cross-media ad reservation and, in conjunction with Digital Collections, a streamline solution for elementary editing in the editorial department.

"As a software company we see ourselves as suppliers of new ideas to the media industry. This is why we want to show what's possible in print, online and mobile at the IFRA Expo. Along with print, our core business, we are now developing solutions which will further the advancement of a new information landscape," says Norbert Ohl, COO of ppi Media, a manroland subsidiary.

The strong link between new and classic media is reflected in our trade fair concept. One of our new products that ppi will be presenting at the IFRA Expo is ContentLink. Together with the Content Management System DC-X from Digital Collections and Adobe's InDesign, ContentLink offers a simple solution for editorial work. When this solution was developed, the focus was not only on creating an innovative and efficient editorial workflow, but above all on producing a cost-effective product. This new editorial solution stands out by concentrating on essential features that facilitate ease of learning and require less administration. Savink, ppi's second new product, is also an efficient, streamline solution. This web application is used to save ink in PDF files.

More enjoyable planning
For many years PlanPag has been ppi Media's number one product and the central planning and production solution for many media companies worldwide. Just in time for the IFRA Expo 2010, ppi will be presenting PlanPag Version 5.0, which features a new design: the GUI can be customized and offers more ease of use. The range of functions of this classic program has also been enhanced to include planning magazine-like products. Ads and editorial content in the bleed can then be produced across the entire ppi workflow.

Ads: print, online, mobile
AdX, ppi's solution for cross-media ad reservation, is now linked to the ad booking system SAP IS-M/AM via an interface. On a central AdX GUI, free spaces in print, online and mobile can, for instance, be requested, and the most important SAP booking data entered in clear masks. Directly after ads have been entered and reserved, the price is sent by the booking system to AdX, where it is then available for viewing by the customer. Other products that will be presented are the output management system printnet OM with its enhanced functions for manroland's Automated Plate Loading (APL) and the IT services, which were introduced at the beginning of the year.

Powerful partners: SAP at ppi Media's stand
SAP will be sharing Stand 4.430, and, in the immediate vicinity, arvato systems will be presenting their products. Together with ppi Media, these two companies will be presenting comprehensive, cross-media ad solutions for the publishing industry.

Digital Collections will be available for more detailed demonstrations of DC-X at Stand 1.620.
