Members of the PrintCity Activity Group Publishing, Commercial & Web (AG-PCW) recently elected Martin Schorn of UPM as their new Vice Chairman for 2010-2012.

This Activity Group works on joint projects including the recent Ultra Wide Web Offset, Web Press Energy Efficiency and Value Added Printing of Newspapers publications, plus it publishes the magazine Webline, covering trends in web offset printing and publishing.

Martin Schorn is Technical Sales Manager for UPM and is located in Hamburg, Germany. Martin has worked at UPM for 14 years in Germany and the UK in several positions in Technical Service, Sales and Technical Marketing. In these functions he has been active in the PrintCity Alliance for many years, including the AG-PCW.

He indicates, "Being a member of the PrintCity web activity group since 2003, it is a pleasure for me now to work as Vice Chairman together with all our other members.

"The PrintCity Alliance has established a high reputation in the printing industry. Our projects have shown that the joint expertise which PrintCity members & partners share, provides such high value for our customers and also all the activity group members. This knowledge sharing on behalf of the industry is something which could not be achieved on our own."

Martin Schorn adds, "I am looking forward to work in this role, participating in more projects in the future, in this network of professionals and experts which is the PrintCity Alliance."

Gerry Schmidt of Sun Chemical, Chairman of the AG-PCW concludes, "Martin has been an active member in PrintCity and also within the activity group for a number of years, so this additional experience in the role of Vice Chairman will be beneficial. His enthusiasm and dedication to each and every task will be a further benefit to the group, and will help to maintain the team atmosphere we are lucky to share."
