BCT expands offset and digital print capabilities

Press release from the issuing company

Fort Lauderdale, FL - BCT, the largest wholesale only printer in North America, has added digital and offset print capabilities to its existing facilities in many major markets throughout the U.S. and Canada.

"Prior to this expansion BCT already had offset four-color capabilities in 25 major markets throughout the US and Canada, making our wholesale four-color footprint among the largest in North America" according to Peter Posk, President of BCT.

"Most recently BCT Houston has added a Sakurai six tower press with in-line aqueous coating. They have also added a Canon imagePRESS C7000," stated Ben Fretti, the company's Sr. Vice President.

In addition to their existing four-color offset capabilities, plants in Akron, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Milwaukee, Dallas, Mobile, Indianapolis, Denver, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Columbia and Pittsburgh have all added digital full color using Canon imagePRESSES and Xerox high speed digital production printers.

Plants in DesMoines, Tempe, Chicago and San Antonio have all added ½ sheet presses and Canon or Xerox digital capabilities, to their existing four color offset capabilities.

Fretti stated "in addition to four-color, all of our plants also run PMS colors and print flat or raised ink on a wide variety of fine papers. The variety we offer is especially important for companies who, as an example, will not accept CMYK "built" colors as a substitute for true spot colors, critical to their corporate identiites."

Posk said "Manufacturing locally means fast turn times and low shipping costs for our brokers and distributors. Also, in a time where many printers have alienated brokers by selling direct, we are one of the few true wholesale printers remaining. We don't operate other companies or divisions that compete with our resellers."

"In serving the broker community today, equipment is only half the equation. Brokers & distributors need to have online ordering technologies to service their customers. Many brokers are frustrated as the cost of these technologies is excessive. They spend their time setting up templates and sites instead of selling. If they have someone setting up sites for them, it sometimes takes up to 8 weeks to get a site up and running. Their customers won't wait that long.

Our technology, orderprinting.com, is offered to brokers & distributors usually at no charge. Additionally, we have almost 100 people across North America setting up templates & sites on behalf of our brokers & distributors. We typically can get our broker's customer's site ready for deployment in less than a week. It's a great value proposition," said Fretti.
