Integraphx invests in a greener future

Press release from the issuing company

Integraphx, Inc., a commercial printing and marketing services firm serving the Charlotte region for over 30 years, has consistently worked toward the goal of good environmental stewardship.  Recently, it has taken another step forward in this effort by investing in American Wind Renewable Energy Credits (RECs).

While Integraphx continues to obtain energy from the power grid, the company is also purchasing RECs to offset 100% of its power use.  Paying extra to purchase the REC's, ensures that the energy the company uses is replaced on the national grid with wind generated electricity.  Based on this commitment, Integraphx has now joined the Green Power Partnership, a voluntary program supported by the Environmental Protection Agency.

"Wind power is one part of a future that relies on clean, renewable energy," said Scott Nowokunski, president of Integraphx.  "It's exciting to be making a contribution that moves us toward that vision.

Green Printing has long been a component in Integraphx' overall strategy.  The company has had waste recycling programs in its facilities for many years and uses chemicals and solvents that are nearly 100% water soluble, biodegradable, and recyclable.

In addition, Integraphx is certified with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), and the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).  Integraphx purchases most of its paper from paper companies that harvest trees from decades old tree farms specifically planted, harvested, and replanted to provide an ongoing source of non-public paper pulp.  "We are pleased to be able to assure our customers that we are taking a multifaceted approach to protect and preserve our environmental resources," said Nowokunski.
