Avery Graphics Design 66 challenge enters "The Chase"

Press release from the issuing company

Painesville, OH – The top ten most popular designs in the Avery Graphics Design 66 Challenge are in "The Chase" to be chosen as first, second and third place winners by NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Steve Wallace, the Rusty Wallace Racing team and sponsor 5-Hour Energy.  More than 120 entries were submitted to the contest from May 13th through midnight on August 13th.

Each design was voted on by visitors to the contest website. The ten most popular designs, in no particular order, were:
Ripped Up by Scott Hall in AZ
Hot Wheels by Steven Dockins in AR
Pit Stop by Shawn Magee in NC
5 Hour Power by Daniel Wayne Logue in NE
White Hot by Michael Phillips in Toronto
Landshark by Shawn Magee in NC
Sunburst 5 Hour by TJ Bartel in VA
Energy Burst by Brooke Albring in OH
Emergency by Alex Silva in CA
Salute the Soldiers by Daniel Wayne Logue in NE

The winning entries will be chosen this week.  The first place winner will meet the Rusty Wallace Racing drivers – Steve Wallace and Brendan Gaughan – and be on hand in the pit to see their design in action on the No. 66 5-Hour Energy Toyota Camry at the Nationwide Series season finale in Homestead, Florida on November 20, 2010.

Wallace and Gaughan are also very much in the chase for a top-ten spot Nationwide Series driver standings. Wallace is currently ranked seventh, with Gaughan close behind in ninth position.

Avery Dennison Graphics & Reflective Products Division joined forces with the Rusty Wallace Racing team at the beginning of 2010.  Avery Graphics products are being used on both Wallace's No. 66 and Gaughan's No. 62 during the 2010 season.

"Avery MPI 1005 Supercast film is ideal for this contest – it's conformability and excellent printability will make the winning design really pop when it is installed on Steve Wallace's No. 66 5-Hour Energy Toyota Camry," said Todd Hain, Marketing Communications Manager at Avery Dennison Graphics & Reflective Products Division (GRPD). "The caliber of the designs we received was outstanding and exceeded our expectations." The winning design will also be installed on the No. 66 show car and put on display at the Avery Dennison Booth (#3069) at SGIA Expo in October.

"5-Hour Energy is excited to participate in the Avery Graphics Design 66 Challenge," said Carl Sperber, Creative Director for 5-Hour Energy. "This is a high profile project that will be seen by millions of people and we're looking forward to choosing the top three entries."

Avery MPI 1005 Supercast is available with Easy Apply RS, Easy Apply and Gloss Opaque LTR technologies to provide faster and easier application and long-term removability.  Easy Apply air egress technology helps eliminate wrinkles and bubbles while Easy Apply RS provides repositionability and slideability, allowing the film to be moved easily before pressure is applied. These films are removable and don't affect the paint on the car.
