Roland Unveils All New 30-Inch Printer/Cutter

Press release from the issuing company

IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 12 -- Roland DGA Corporation today introduced the VersaCAMM printer/cutter. With an integrated media heating system and advanced Eco-SOL INK, the VersaCAMM is the first inkjet under $14,000 capable of printing and contour cutting durable outdoor graphics on uncoated media. "The VersaCAMM has blockbuster hit written all over it," said Dave Goward, Roland VP of Sales & Marketing. "Our customers have been asking for a smaller platform, print-cut inkjet, and VersaCAMM more than fills the bill. It gives sign makers an extremely affordable way to produce a wide range of durable indoor and outdoor graphics in a safe, odor-free environment. When you consider that it also contour cuts, the VersaCAMM is the most productive sign making tool in its class." The VersaCAMM prints full-color graphics directly onto a wide variety of both coated and uncoated substrates, without any need for special ventilation or environmental equipment. Roland has tested and profiled Eco-SOL Media (ESM) -- a new lineup of uncoated substrates -- to perform with VersaCAMM and Pro II Series printers and printer/cutters. With Eco-SOL INK, ESM yields consistent print results that are water, scratch and UV resistant for up to three years. * The VersaCAMM can also automatically contour cut printed graphics without reloading or repositioning them. To laminate print & cut graphics, simply remove prints, laminate and reload them for precision cutting. The Quadralign four-point optical registration system automatically realigns the cutting path and compensates for skew and distortion. The VersaCAMM also functions as a stand-alone vinyl cutter. This combination of printing and cutting in a single device significantly improves production speed and ease of use. VersaCAMM Features -- Eco-SOL INK -- Aggressively bonds to both uncoated and coated media -- Safe to use and environmentally friendly -- Up to 1440 dpi resolution with variable droplet technology -- Water, scratch and UV resistant graphics for up to 3-years outdoors * -- Average running cost (ink and media) between $0.60 and $0.70 per sq. ft -- Uses four 220ml ink cartridges (CMYK) -- Roland COLORIP (RCR) software included -- Quadralign -- Four-point optical registration system -- Energy Star seal -- Maximum energy efficiency and lower electric bills. Pricing & Availability The VersaCAMM is currently shipping and has a list price of $13,995. Leasing options are available on all Roland products. ESM Tested and profiled to perform with the VersaCAMM and Pro II Series printers and printer/cutters, Roland ESM includes a range of competitively priced, uncoated adhesive backed vinyls along with other popular substrates.
