Zevrix BatchOutput Server 4.5 for InDesign automates printers' workflows

Press release from the issuing company

Toronto, Canada - Zevrix Solutions today announced BatchOutput Server 4.5, an important feature update to its powerful output workflow automation solution for Adobe InDesign. Originally developed for a major publisher in the United States, the software automates InDesign output by processing files from hot folders. BatchOutput Server offloads printing and exporting to PDF and PostScript to a central system leaving operator workstations free from the output process.

"BatchOutput Server is an extremely useful utility for a busy production facility or advertising agency", writes David Creamer in Layers magazine, "It can save lots of time - which equates to money."

Under BatchOutput Server workflow, production artists and prepress operators simply submit InDesign files to hot folders that reside on the network. BatchOutput Server automatically outputs the files from its dedicated station using hot folder settings, and will auto-activate document fonts as well. Operator workstations will never again be tied up by the output process.

The new version helps automate workflows of commercial printers that receive files from outside sources. Users now can simply drop collected InDesign jobs into BatchOutput Server hot folders, and the supplied links will be located automatically (in addition to the existing font auto-activation).

Major BatchOutput Server features and benefits include:
- Automatically process InDesign files from hot folders
- Auto-activate document fonts
- Automatic e-mail notifications of process stages and errors
- Export InDesign files as single pages
- Update modified links automatically
- Variable output file names
- XML-driven processing options
- Single set of output options for the entire workgroup
- Monitor BatchOutput Server from user stations
- Detailed processing logs

In addition, the new update introduces support for InDesign book files and multiple InDesign files in job folders, lists final output files in e-mail notifications, gives an option to delete old logs automatically and includes other improvements and fixes.

Pricing and Availability:
BatchOutput Server 4.5 can be purchased from the Zevrix Solutions web site for $699.95 (USD), as well as from authorized resellers. Trial is also available for download. The update is free for the licensed users. BatchOutput Server is a Universal Binary, runs on Mac OS X 10.4 and later and works with Adobe InDesign CS-CS5.
