Creo Licenses ExtremeZ-IP

Press release from the issuing company

ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 10 -- Group Logic, developer of best- selling network workflow software products, announced today that Creo, the world's largest independent supplier of prepress systems, has licensed ExtremeZ-IP. "We chose ExtremeZ-IP for this application because it provides a fast and robust platform for Macintosh connectivity to our Windows servers," said Stan Coleman, corporate vice president, Creo Printing Workflow Solutions. ExtremeZ-IP file server software provides faster, easier connections between Mac and Windows using AppleShareIP. ExtremeZ-IP is the first and only Windows-based file server to fully support Mac OS X, making it a "must have" for mixed Macintosh and Windows computing environments. ExtremeZ-IP's print server allows Mac OS clients to print PostScript print jobs using the TCP/IP or AppleTalk protocol to printers and other devices managed by Windows servers. Print jobs are then delivered to printers and PostScript processing applications. Using IP Print Support, Mac OS users retain access to the familiar Desktop Printers and LaserWriter drivers, while gaining the added speed and efficiencies of TCP/IP. Group Logic modified ExtremeZ-IP for Creo to allow the ability to control and monitor all aspects of the Macintosh file and print services. This allows a consistent, easy to use interface and automatically configures the server for Macintosh connections. "Group Logic's development team has been very responsive to our requests to provide a seamless integration with the ExtremeZ-IP product. Having a reliable vendor available to quickly address issues on a critical component is essential," said Mr. Coleman. "We are excited to be able to provide our ExtremeZ-IP software to Creo," said T. Reid Lewis, President of Group Logic. "As a result of our continued investment, ExtremeZ-IP has become the most stable, most compatible platform for Macintosh and Windows file sharing and the only choice for production environments."
