manroland Press users win big at the 2010 Neographics Awards

Press release from the issuing company

On May 6, the Graphic Arts Association held its Neographics Power of Print Awards event honoring the best production pieces in over 50 categories. manroland congratulates all the winners for their fine efforts and especially its customers:
- Bentley/Rowland Communications-  Overall Winner and 2nd Runner-Up
- Consolidated Graphic, Tursack- 3rd Runner-Up
- Intelligencer Printing Co.- 4th Runner-Up
- McLean Packaging
- Evergreen Printing Company

The Overall Winner was a type of catalogue for a high-end watch company.  According to Jamie Bentley, President, Bentley/Rowland, "The piece was really a 'mag-a-log' that told a story about the product and was integral to the client's marketing campaign.  It needed a high level of detail and rub resistance because it was a sales tool literally in the hands of the consumer.  The piece was run with stochastic screening and UV inks. The manroland R700 press allowed us to hold a fine dot across the form and to tune in the UV process throughout the run."

Intelligencer Printing is known for its reliable management of the overall print process.  "The Steinway project was an example of a job where the client trusted us and our production process," said Dean Baker, Vice President of Sales at Intelligencer.  "Outstanding image quality was required for this project on high end pianos. Our manroland R700 press with over 200 million impressions kept dot gain under control to achieve a high quality image for the winning project.  We have well-developed maintenance programs and crews that keep our presses in top running shape."
