University of Alabama starts stitching with a Presto from Muller Martini

Tuscaloosa, Alabama — Printing Services at the University of Alabama has purchased a Presto saddle stitching system from Muller Martini to expand its full-service production capabilities. The primary mission of the in-plant is to provide quality printed and visual media to the campus community. Its customers include students, faculty, technical, clerical, and professional staff in all departments and colleges within the University of Alabama. Presto is Muller Martini’s short-to-medium run saddle stitcher. Featuring Programmable Logic Controls and quick-adjust handwheels, it’s designed to accelerate the pace between jobs. In operation, the system produces at the rate of 9,000 cycles per hour. At the University of Alabama, Presto joins a complement of equipment that includes a range of multi-color presses, digital printing capabilities and a complete bindery.
