Unisource Worldwide honors suppliers for sustainability achievements

Norcross, GA – Unisource Worldwide, Inc., one of the leading distributors of paper, packaging and facility supplies in North America, recently honored three suppliers as winners of the first Unisource Worldwide Supplier Sustainability Awards.

The companies received their awards at Unisource's second Supplier Sustainability Symposium held this May in Atlanta, GA.  More than 75 decision-makers from Unisource and suppliers throughout the U.S. attended the meeting, which focused on the recent accomplishments of the company's suppliers as well as the challenges of maintaining corporate sustainability initiatives for the future.

The three companies – one from each Unisource business segment including Paper, Packaging and Facility Supplies – selected to receive the 2010 Unisource Supplier Sustainability Awards were:
- PAPER – Domtar Corporation, the largest integrated manufacturer and marketer of uncoated freesheet paper in North America and the second largest in the world based on production capacity.
- PACKAGING – 3M, a recognized leader in research and development, the company produces thousands of innovative products for dozens of diverse markets.
- FACILITY SUPPLIES – Diversey, Inc., a leading global provider of cleaning and hygiene solutions to the institutional marketplace, serving customers in the lodging, food service, retail, health care, food and beverage sectors, as well as building service contractors worldwide.

"These awards were presented to our top suppliers for their recent environmental accomplishments and best practices for supply chain management," said Unisource's Vice President of Sustainability Nancy C. Geisler.  "On behalf of the entire Unisource team, I would like to congratulate these companies who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership in the area of corporate sustainability," said Geisler.
