Mutoh introduces the Kona Cutter

Press release from the issuing company

Mutoh America, wide format printer manufacturer, offers a new line of Kona Cutters, available in 3 sizes, 30", 54" and 65", featuring the accuracy and speed Mutoh is known for.  For home, office and professional users, the Kona line offers the finest cutting quality with excellent tracking. The Kona Cutter line features a new full-color 3.5" LCD touch screen with multi-language capability, making access to all functions easy and direct.

The Kona Cutters have a new dual roll support system!  The standard media support rollers allow trouble-free vinyl handling, while ensuring perfect tracking.  The optional roll-off system is available for contactless loading of pre-printed rolls.

"The new sheet-off system the Kona Cutters encompasses is an innovative automatic sheet-off mechanism incorporating a rotating long-life blade with 4 cutting sides for cutting media at the end of a job. This will speed the process for our end users, and allow for printing of full rolls that can be contour cut and processed into convenient sheets for handling, weeding, storage or shipping," comments Randy Anderson, Product Marketing Manager.

The Kona Cutters integrate a laser-based optical sensor for automatic job recognition and accurate alignment of contour and cut through data; cutting a broad range of sign making materials up to a maximum thickness of 1 mm. Mutoh's Kona 760 (30") Cutter is equipped with 2 pressure rollers. The Kona 1400 (54") and 1650 (65") are equipped with 3 pressure rollers.

The cutting force is adjustable from 20 – 450 grams to guarantee optimum cutting results on a wide range of materials. Long-length tracking is guaranteed thanks to the matching of grid roller sets per individual machine. The cutting speed is adjustable up to 1000 mm/s at a maximum acceleration of 3 G, which enables a cutting speed up to 1414 mm/s and an acceleration of 4.2 G in diagonal movements.

Mutoh also offers the Kona combined with their best in class ValueJet wide format printers for superior print and cut production starting at only $22,995.00.  Available for shipping middle of July.
