manroland at Expoprint Latin America

Press release from the issuing company

On Stand 21 with more than 400 square meters in Pavilion B, manroland will be exhibiting at Expoprint Latin America from 23 till 29 June 2010. The company's presentation at this trade show in São Paulo at ExpoCenter Transamérica will focus on the Value Added Printing strategy.

manroland do Brazil and manroland latina, the new Sales and Service Organizations of the global market leader in web offset printing systems and the world's second-largest manufacturer of sheetfed offset printing systems, commenced business just one year ago. Since then the Value Added Printing concept has convinced many new customers in the South and Central American region. Visitors to Expoprint can see how innovative solutions help them to print more efficiently (faster and cheaper) and add more value (better and different). This will be illustrated by a demonstration of a six-color ROLAND 500 with coating module and InlineFoiler Prindor, and in the VAP Tunnel and PRINTVALUE sector.

Value Added Printing: press demonstration and VAP Tunnel
The 50/70 format ROLAND 500 sets the standards for production efficiency and product value. Among the most important automation features are PPL (Power Plate Loading) and ColorPilot – the fastest color control system on the market. With its high printing speed (up to 18,000 sheets per hour as an option) and substrate thickness of up to 1 millimeter as an option, the ROLAND 500 increases a printing company's capacity. For print enhancement, inline application of dispersion or UV coating and the ROLAND InlineFoiler Prindor open up new business opportunities. The market-leading cold foil transfer module enhances packaging, high-quality labels, book jackets, magazines and advertising matter. In the VAP Tunnel which showcases Value Added Printing, customers will receive detailed information about how innovative solutions increase productivity and thus boost profits. Print experts from manroland will explain how this is done using exhibits and various media forms.

Web offset printing: the portfolio of the global market leader
In the commercial printing sector, the presentation of the global market leader in web offset printing will center on the EUROMAN and the LITHOMAN. The EUROMAN, now also available as a 48-page press, is a great success in South America. With more than 350 installations worldwide, the LITHOMAN is a synonym for high-volume printing. In the newspaper printing sector, the UNISET is also available as a hybrid press which is very interesting for publishing houses. Here customers can benefit from the experience manroland has gained from an installed base of over 160 heatset-coldset combinations – by far the most in the market. Users appreciate the possibility to create new business models, along with the wide range of applications this newspaper press offers, plus its product quality and versatility.

The demand for PRINTVALUE services is growing all the time
With PRINTVALUE services, manroland offers a wealth of instruments for boosting efficiency through production reliability. In the PRINTVALUE sector of the manroland stand, the spotlight will be on the certified printcom consumable materials. For example, the Start-up Set will be on display. Among other things, the printservices experts will explain upgrade possibilities for printing systems, as well as maintenance measures contained in the LifeCycleManagement concept.

manroland invites journalists to a Press Conference on the exhibition stand on Thursday, 24 June 2010. The conference will be attended by Gerd Finkbeiner, CEO of manroland AG, and Franz von Fürstenberg, Managing Director of manroland do Brasil, and will commence at 9.00 am. Franz von Fürstenberg is already looking forward to the exhibition: "We want to let customers know that they can again rely on manroland's direct presence in Brazil and Mexico. Besides that, we want to show printing companies that no one else in South and Central America can get close to manroland as a provider of equipment for premium-quality printing."
