Reston, VA - The MAN Roland Users Group (MANRUG) has announced it will hold its annual conference in Chicago this fall in conjunction with GRAPH EXPO 2010. The MAN Roland Users Group meeting will take place on Saturday, October 2, the day before the opening of GRAPH EXPO, and Sunday, October 3. GRAPH EXPO 2010, the year's largest graphic communications exhibition and conference in the Americas, will take place October 3-6, 2010, in Chicago's McCormick Place South. The MANRUG conference will be co-located with GRAPH EXPO 2010 in McCormick Place.
The MAN Roland Users Group is open to users of manroland web offset printing presses in North and South America. Its annual conference provides a way for its users, who are predominantly newspaper professionals, to network, share operational experiences and best practices, and meet with vendors.
"Due to the economy, the MAN Roland Users Group had not been able to meet in the past couple of years. In order to be functional and provide full value, though, our group really needs to have its members meet and talk face-to-face," explained Mel Balch, operations director at the Mobile Press-Register and board member of the MAN Roland Users Group. "Holding our annual conference at GRAPH EXPO 2010 made sense for multiple reasons. It's centrally located, and a number of user sites are within driving distance of the show. Because manroland is headquartered in the suburbs of Chicago, and a lot of our support vendors will also already be at the show, our members will have quick access to their vendors. Finally, with the launch of the newspaper pavilion this year, GRAH EXPO has a much stronger newspaper side-it's become a better show for newspaper professionals to attend."
"Given the tremendous amount of change occurring within the newspaper industry in the past several years, our News Print pavilion provides a much-needed forum for newspaper professionals to meet and find the latest technologies that can help them conduct business in new, innovative and profit-boosting ways," said Ralph Nappi, President of the Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC). "The MAN Roland Users Group clearly recognizes the value of News Print and the commitment that GRAPH EXPO 2010 demonstrates to the newspaper publishing and printing industry."
Recognized as the commercial printing, publishing, mailing and transactional exposition for the Americas, GRAPH EXPO 2010 themed, "The Next Generation of Print," has been designed to offer a customized show-going experience for a diverse spectrum of attendees from 11 key market segments. The exhibition will offer the latest graphic communications technologies, live equipment demonstrations on the show floor, plus education on the most in-demand products and profit-making opportunities. In addition to the News Print pavilion, which is sponsored by News & Tech magazine, attendees will find six other special interest sections on the show floor. These include PackPrint, covering package printing; Future Print, featuring Printed Electronics and RFID; the Mailing & Fulfillment Center, the industry's largest mailing event anywhere in the Americas; the second annual GREENspace, a showcase dedicated to sustainability and eco-friendly products and services; Prepress/Software-Design; and, Press/Finishing.
