Lowe-Martin recognized and compensated for ERIP

Press release from the issuing company

Ottawa, Canada - The Lowe-Martin Group was presented with a $25,000 incentive cheque from Hydro Ottawa for their participation in the Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program (ERIP). The event was held on June 10, 2010 at Lowe-Martin's Ottawa printing facility.

Presenting the cheque to The Lowe-Martin Group's President and CEO Ward Griffin were The Honourable Brad Duguid, Ontario's Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Rosemarie Leclair, President and CEO of Hydro Ottawa.

"At The Lowe-Martin Group we believe in reducing the impact we have on the environment and our success at reducing our energy consumption has contributed significantly to achieving that goal" says Ward Griffin, The Lowe-Martin Group's President and CEO.

The Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program, headed by Hydro Ottawa in cooperation with the Ontario Power Authority, is a provincial rebate program that provides financial incentives to influence its customers to undertake projects to improve both the energy efficiency of their facilities and their bottom line.

During a private tour of The Lowe-Martin Group facility, Mr. Griffin showcased the ERIP upgrades and explained the various ways that Lowe-Martin has achieved a balance between ecology and economy. Among the many energy use programs instituted at Lowe-Martin, the T5 lighting retrofit in the production facility marked a significant step forward in energy conservation.  The T5 lighting retrofit will deliver energy savings of over 370,000 kilo-watt hours per year and the new lighting system has a 66% longer lamp life than the previously installed system.

Lowe-Martin has been recognized as an industry leader for encouraging investment in greener processes, for sharing ideas and best practices, and for demonstrating that environmental sustainability provides a competitive advantage. In addition to the incentive cheque from Hydro Ontario, Lowe-Martin has been previously recognized for its headway in environmental sustainability. They have  been presented with an award for Most Environmentally Progressive Printer in Canada at the Annual Environmental Printing Awards for the past 4 years and were awarded  a Hydro Ottawa Companies for Conservation award in January 2009.
