Adobe Appoints Executive to Lead its Asia Pacific Operations

SAN JOSE, Calif.--Sept. 2, 2003-- Adobe Systems Incorporated, the leader in network publishing, today announced the appointment of Anthony Nemelka as vice president, Asia Pacific, a new position responsible for driving the company's business in the region which includes Japan, China, India, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia. In his new role, Nemelka is responsible for developing business opportunities, forging strategic alliances and increasing Adobe's customer focus across the entire Asia Pacific region. His enterprise software expertise will complement Adobe's existing management team to maximize growth opportunities in its traditional markets and drive Adobe's expansion into the enterprise market. "Tony's understanding of the unique business requirements of the region, his broad experience in international business management and his enterprise solution expertise bring additive strength to Adobe's management team and provide the executive leadership necessary to support and develop this strategic business opportunity." Most recently, Nemelka was representative director and general manager of E.piphany Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of E.piphany, Inc., a U.S.-based CRM software firm. Prior to joining E.piphany, he was representative director and president of PeopleSoft Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of PeopleSoft, Inc. From 1986 to 1998 he held a variety of finance, sales, and sales management positions with IBM, including overseeing IBM's business with Japanese and Korean automobile manufacturers across North and South America. Nemelka holds a bachelor of science, Summa Cum Laude, in international business and finance from Brigham Young University.
