PaperSpecs and Tembec to host webinar on new FSC label requirements

Press release from the issuing company

If you use FSC labels on the materials you create or the all-familiar logo helps to guide your paper purchases, recently something has been looking different, altered, distinct … the new changes to the FSC label standard have caused some confusion in the marketplace.

Changes are here, and there are new FSC labels – not only in terms of graphic formats, but labeling standards as well. If you are having trouble understanding the new FSC labels and their meanings, then be prepared to take notes as FSC Canada's Program Officer Monika Patel will lead attendees through the basics of the streamlined FSC labeling, the new graphic look of the labels, the issues surrounding the changes to label standards and what exactly has changed from the old to the new labels.

Come get your questions answered at PaperSpecs' next FREE Webinar – "Understanding the New FSC Labels."

Simpler Guidance to Tangible Benefits
Our guest speaker, Monika Patel joined the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Canada team in 2008. As FSC Canada's Program Officer, she works closely with certificate holders and partners to develop communications tools and maintain up-to-date records of FSC-certified products and companies, organize event participation and brand management. Monika will use her experience and expertise to demystify the new FSC labels in an easy-to-understand way.

"The variety of FSC-certified products has expanded since the trademark standards were initially developed. The need for simpler guidance led to the decision to review and update the standard," says Patel. "We want to be sure everyone understands not only how to read and use the new FSC labels, but how the revised labeling standard will bring tangible benefits to their everyday paper specifying and purchasing tasks."
