Sappi adding value at IPEX

Press release from the issuing company

IPEX opens its doors this week and as a PrintCity Alliance member and exhibitor, Sappi's CEO Berry Wiersum delivered a key note speech introducing the concept of: 'The art of adding value.'

Sappi, as a renowned paper manufacturer, provides marketing professionals and publishers with the right paper choice that adds value to printed communications.

Says Berry Wiersum: "Sappi has become more than a paper manufacturer. Because we are constantly striving to use less raw material, energy and water, our know-how can now be shared with our customers to increase their efficiency and reduce their production costs."

Sappi gives access to its clients to solutions such as waste reduction programmes, colour management and workflow management for publishing purposes.

Digital printing is another means of increasing efficiency and marketing impact. This is why Sappi has developed two new digital paper brands at IPEX – TOP and JET – which enable printers to grow their print on demand business without compromising quality.

Printers are expected to prove sustainable credentials to meet client's expectations. Sappi is a rural and local industry at the heart of Europe. In the last 15 years at global level, Sappi has increased the yield of a tree by 15%. In 2009, 50% of Sappi's global energy needs came from a renewable resource. In Europe the fossil CO2 emissions per ton of paper were reduced by 17,7% and the water use by 15,4% over the last 9 years. (This concerns all European mills, excluding the mills acquired in January 2009).
