IPEX 2010: discover the manroland exhibition booth

Press release from the issuing company

At IPEX 2010 in Birmingham manroland is thinking and acting unconventionally on 740 square meters booth area. In hall 17, as a member of PrintCity, comprehensive process competence can be re-experienced.

manroland's show planners have created a lot of space for communication, consultancy, and exchange of experiences. "We have chosen this new approach without printing presses deliberately. The industry is in a process of change and so are our customers' expectations. The customer is demanding holistic solutions from the manufacturer. It is high time to show manroland's process competence clearly and distinctively at trade shows, too," describes Thomas Hauser, Vice President Marketing at manroland, the philosophy.

Core of the booth is the VAP theater (Value Added Printing) where an interactive show will be presented. It is connected with the VAP tunnel. The theater is surrounded by the Theme Park, the PRINTVALUE sector, the Web Solutions Center, where the highlights for the webfed sector are presented, and the communication area. The focus is on customer communication and the transparent presentation of the performance portfolio. How this can be achieved, describes Patrick O. Soschinski, Managing Partner Expotechnik Group, which plans and realizes the appearance: "The challenge is to describe products as if they were on the booth as exhibits. This is why we are focussing even stronger on precise and sustainable product explanations." The Expotechnik creatives and the manroland printing experts have developed a unique product presentation.

The theme areas: each question deserves an answer
The Theme Park sets versatility benchmarks. Here manroland's experts are explaining technologies and business models for enhanced production efficiency, answering questions on substrates and inline enhancement, on applications, packaging, One Touch automation, and production flexibility. What does the manroland services offer include? The customer finds the answers in the PRINTVALUE sector: printservices with spare parts, upgrades, and training, the printcom consumables, printnet networking, and printadvice consultancy. In the Web Solutions Center the web offset world market leader shows why he is first in automation and how the customer can benefit from this. Newspaper subjects are APL logistics and production flexibility. The commercial sector presents the newly-introduced autoprint series as well as the 48-page EUROMAN and the 96-page LITHOMAN.

The VAP show: a whiff of Avatar
The theater presents the VAP show several times a day. A very special movie adventure, realized by Pixomondo from Frankfurt. The task was: let the customers experience a manroland press from a completely new and unknown perspective. It did work. manroland and Pixomondo used the latest stereoskopy technologies from the cinema sector as known e.g. from James Cameron's Avatar. The spectator as passenger on a journey to the inside of the printing system.

The VAP tunnel: light into the dark
The printer comes from the hectic trade show business into a pleasant conversation atmosphere when visiting the VAP tunnel that is connected to the show. In a round tour on value added printing the customer gets detailed information on how to print more efficiently (faster and cheaper) and more valuable (better and different) with innovative solutions. Which ROLAND SelectSystems module helps me save energy? Can I retrofit the color control ROLAND InlineColorPilot? manroland experts answer all questions on technology and printing practice individually, illustrated with technical exhibits, printing samples, and practical examples.
