PRATI to introduce its label finishing to the Australian market

Press release from the issuing company

Marradi – PRATI is to showcase its SATURN TE330 slitter rewinding die-cutting machine during the Australian Open House event that will take place in Bayswater, Melbourne, on June 15-16. The event is being staged by GALLUS Australia, PRATI's official distributor and service provider for the Australian and New Zealand markets.

During the Open House event, PRATI will introduce the benefits of the SATURN line for producing commodity labels. The SATURN line will show visitors how a slitter rewinding machine can offer state-of-the-art technical features yet still be competitively priced.

Modular design
The SATURN series is designed for the post-printing processes of self-adhesive label production, such as inspection, slitting, rewinding and die-cutting. Its modular design enables the machine to be configured according to customers' needs. The SATURN solution has a full program of upgrade and options that can be implemented at any time, including inspection units, inkjet print-heads and die-cutting units. This modular design ensures the SATURN series can accommodate current and future label finishing requirements.

The machine on display at the event – the SATURN TE330 – is equipped with a die-cutting unit and a web feeder that speeds up rolls change. The system features fully automated tensioning and cutting, and can process a wide range of substrates to a 330mm web width, including paper and plastic labels, booklet labels. The machine is also equipped with a video inspection unit for 100% labels control.

Cost efficient and environmentally friendly
Like all PRATI solutions, the SATURN is robust and reliable. It requires limited maintenance, ensuring printers enjoy maximum uptime. And the system uses high-quality components, which means it requires fewer replacement parts than similar machines. Ultimately, the SATURN offers the lowest production costs of any system in its class, and lower energy consumption.

"At PRATI we adopt a partnership approach with our customers and base our continual research and development on meeting their specific needs," says Chiara Prati, Sales Director. "This philosophy has resulted in manufacturing machines that are reliable, solid, precise and cost-efficient."

High productivity
Thanks to the reliable servo brushless technology and its full automation, the SATURN can reach a speed of 250m/min with all functions operating. Users can choose from a range of functions to suit their needs, such as unwinding, counting, slitting, rewinding and die-cutting of paper labels, clear-on-clear labels and single paper layer. And there's the option to fit the solution with an inspection system, which identifies if there are missing labels, the presence of matrix and flag before automatically placing the errors on the splicing table for correction. Its high productivity makes a single unit enough to serve two printing presses.

"Customers using the system are reporting excellent slitting accuracy, while finished rolls always have the right level of softness or hardness with the precise quantity of labels. The days of waste in finished rolls are over."

User-friendly
PRATI pays close attention to detail when developing all aspects of its systems, including the user interface. The SATURN series is equipped with a PLC touchscreen, which helps the operator use working programs and test pages for fast troubleshooting. This feature affords a quick set-up and fast job change-over. And the ability to check the process via the monitor greatly reduces human error, which results in higher-quality jobs and greater customer satisfaction.

"We have a very strong relationship with GALLUS Australia," adds Prati. "The company has extensive technical and industry knowledge, which has helped it build an excellent reputation in the Australian and New Zealand markets. The Open House event is the ideal setting for us to support each other and our customers, and increase our presence in these key territories."
