Suttle-Straus receives top award in statewide print competition

Press release from the issuing company

For the fourth time, Suttle-Straus, Waunakee communications provider, won top honors recognizing outstanding achievement in the tenth annual 2010 Graphics Excellence Awards, a statewide printing competition hosted by the Printing Industries of Wisconsin, the state's trade association for printing and graphic arts.

Competing against over 800 entries from printing firms across the state, Suttle-Straus garnered the Best of Show for a case bound book produced for The Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The 192 page full color book was designed by Shine Advertising of Madison. In addition to the top honors, Suttle-Straus received Best of Category for four pieces representing a variety of products. The awards were presented at a May 11 gala gathering of over 220 indus-try members held at The Wisconsin Club in Milwaukee.

"We are extremely proud of our winning team," said John Berthelsen, President, "It is a real achievement to be recognized as a company whose employees consistently produce top quality, award winning materials for our clients." The company also garnered Best of Show in the 2002, 2005 and 2006 competitions.

Entries were judged on technical printing excellence by a judging panel of printers, buyers, and ad agency executives. Michael Makin, PIA's president stated "The judges pointed out that this piece had an extremely high degree of difficulty to complete the entire project. Special color matching and cross-overs from page to page were outstand-ing and the colors popped. Suttle-Straus should be very proud of their company's achievement and the excellent work done by their employees."

The Graphic Excellence Awards recognize those responsible for the creation and production of print communications in Wisconsin. The competition promotes excellence in print communications and rewards companies and individuals who produce the best in print media.
