NEW YORK, Aug. 26 -- Archer Management Services, an Oce company and national leader in document management and mailroom outsourcing services, today announced the appointment of Dr. Michael Field as Director of Technology. Dr. Field's principal focus will be to develop and drive adoption by Archer clients of new document management technologies and to assist them in migrating to networked, multi-functional devices for improved efficiency and higher return on investment. "Michael's stature in the industry and his expertise in document management and office services match perfectly to the needs of Archer clients," said Joseph R. Marciano, president and chief executive officer of Archer Management Services. "We are pleased to have Michael join the Archer team and look forward to the immediate positive impact he will make." Dr. Field most recently held the position of Director, Systems Marketing, with Pitney Bowes, Inc., where he served in several marketing, business development and engineering posts since first joining the company in 1978 as a physicist in its copier division. He is active in several industry organizations including Xplor International, a worldwide association of users and suppliers of document technology products and services. Dr. Field also currently serves as Secretary of the Association for Mail Electronic Enhancement (AMEE), an organization dedicated to setting industry standards for the automated submission, tracking and reporting of mailings with the United States Postal Service. "I look forward to applying my experience to help Archer clients better understand the cost-saving benefits of network technology in printing operations, while providing an ongoing stream of improvements to further leverage their initial investments," said Dr. Field. "The deep strength of Oce in document management technology and Archer's broad customer base and experience in professional services offer an excellent source for a client's needs for strategic thinking, technology expertise and passionate service." Dr. Field has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from Cornell University and a Ph.D. degree in Solid State Physics from the University of Maine.
