Nexirius, LLC and ICS, Inc. announce integration of COLIBRI and Remote Director

Press release from the issuing company

New York, NY and Basel, Switzerland - Nexirius LLC, a renowned and experienced provider of software solutions that after a management spin-off from Ciba Inc. has exclusive marketing and development rights  to the popular COLIBRI Color-Matching System for graphic arts, paints, plastics, fibers, and ceramics; and ICS, Inc. the leader in monitor proofing systems; will announce an integrated System for accurate COLIBRI color viewing and collaboration at Info*Flex, May 3-4, in Las Vegas at the Paris Las Vegas.

"Brand owners want to make it easier for their suppliers to create within the realm of what's possible," says Judy van de Langkruis, Head of Marketing & Sales for Nexirius. "This integration makes it possible for designers to access COLIBRI color palettes, visualize ideas from a virtual proof during the creative process, and know immediately how, and if, colors will work for different applications and substrates."

Says Vicki Blake, VP - Business Development at ICS, "This is a straightforward, logical integration that is going to make life a bit more streamlined for designers and brand owners both. Accurate, realistic viewing prevents costly and time-consuming reworking."

Van de Langkruis says that demand has stepped up over the last few years, as global brand management has highlighted the importance of color communication.  She says that the majority of colors are still specified using color catalogs, and the effect of the substrate is not taken into account. For instance, application requirements often restrict the number of colorants that can be used, making it impossible to produce certain colors. The outcome is often color inconsistency - and then the job goes back for rework.

COLIBRI and Remote Director together help Specifiers evaluate the feasibility of color production, without actually going through the hard copy production process.

The first stage of integration is simply exchanging color information via cxf, but in later stages a proof viewed with Remote Director will automatically update with color information from the COLIBRI database and users can also access additional colors right from within the color palette of Remote Director.  Digital draw downs done as a monitor proof will also become available.
