GMG ColorProof wins EDP award for Best RIP Solution for Wide Format

Press release from the issuing company

Tuebingen – GMG, developer and supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, has won the award for Best RIP Solution for Wide Format of the Year 2010 from the European Digital Press Association (EDP).
The award is presented to GMG ColorProof 5.1 for incorporating several new technical features and performance improvements, providing highest-ever achieved production reliability and color accuracy to date.

The EDP Awards transcend commercial experience and are awarded to products that inspire confidence, have credibility and signify quality to end users. Innovation is the focus for the judging of the awards and the EDP Technical Committee judges the products on the value of the new technical abilities they offer. This can be innovation in the technology that improves speed, quality, usability and functionality or reduces environmental impact as well as the cost to the user.

GMG ColorProof 5.1 gives the best possible color accuracy and quality in the production of contract proofs by automatically selecting the appropriate profile and calibration for the destination printer and substrate. The predetermined GMG Proof Standards define all the parameters necessary for high-quality color accurate proofs, which enhances production reliability and provides cost savings.

All important functions are arranged in logical groups and are recognizable to the operator at a glance. Around 75% of typical tasks can now be directly handled when files are selected for proofing. Each job is displayed on the user interface and can be treated accordingly.
