New Angle Notch supercharges Muller Martini Amigo and Tigra perfect binders

Press release from the issuing company

August 25, 2003 -- Hauppauge, New York — Muller Martini has developed a new backbone preparation device for its short-run perfect binding systems that improves book quality and expands product versatility. The patent pending innovation, called Angle Notch, is available as an upgrade to binderies that run Amigo, AmigoPlus or Tigra perfect binding systems. It also will be integrated into new machines as optional equipment for customers who expect to run heavy coated or otherwise difficult to bind product. "We never sit still when it comes to making our equipment more productive for our customers," says Werner Naegeli, President & CEO of Muller Martini Corp. "Angle Notch is an example of how we deliver added value and functionality to our systems long after they have left the factory. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers who run Amigos and Tigras a way to bind a superior product not achievable on other comparable and even larger perfect binders." The device extends the product range of the short-run Muller Martini perfect binders. It allows them to accept jobs with heavy ink coverage and coated stock while achieving excellent pull values with standard glues. "Amigo, AmigoDigital and Tigra users who want to increase the performance of their machines should call on their local Muller Martini service representative for an Angle Notch upgrade and to check if their machine can accept the device," says Kerry Burroughs, Manager of Muller Martini’s Perfect Binding Division. "The modest investment will pay for itself in short order." Angle Notch is now available as an option when a customer purchases a new Amigo, AmigoDigital or Tigra perfect binder.
