Award winning Komori LS40 will make its Canadian debut

August 23, 2003 -- K-North, Inc. is pleased to announce that the new Komori Lithrone S40, winner of the 2003 GATF Intertech Technology Award, will make its Canadian debut at the upcoming Graphics Canada. The Lithrone S40 is Komori's newest offering to the sheetfed printing market. The Lithrone S40 made its first appearance at IPEX in April of 2002, followed by the first introduction to the US market last fall. The trade show appearance at the Graphics Canada will be the only showing of the Lithrone S40 in North America in 2003. Some of the new features are advanced automated make ready eliminating non-productive time between jobs, new automated plate changing system which is 50% faster than others on the market today, inking and dampening declutch mechanism, and the top printing speed of 16,000 sheets per hour. The Lithrone S40 comes equipped with Komori's Color Connection software suite, the breakthrough productivity tool designed to streamline the workflow from design through production. Bladesetter converts digital CIP3/4 data or PPF files to ink key profiles. KHS sets a standard ink file thickness and applying the ink key profile completely unattended. K-ColorProfiler is the ultimate tool for pressroom colour management. Komori's K-Station serves as the link between the Lithrone S40 and print management systems. Together the Color Connection tools provide consistent, repeatable colour, faster makeready, improved productivity and less waste. The 2003 GATF Intertech Technology Award is the latest in a series of awards and accolades received by the Lithrone S40 worldwide, including the most prestigious Engineering, Technology and Design awards from Japan and Germany.
