Solimar Systems to show enhanced Rubika version at AIIM On Demand

Press release from the issuing company

San Diego, CA - Solimar Systems, Inc., a leading global provider of production printing and secure document delivery solutions, today announced plans to exhibit a new version of Rubika to further address the post-composition document re-engineering market. The enhanced version of Rubika, along with all of Solimar's solution suite, will be on display during the AIIM On Demand Conference & Expo at Philadelphia's Pennsylvania Convention Center in booth # 519 from April 20-April 22, 2010.

Engineered in a modular fashion, the Rubika product suite solves many problems associated with high volume transactional print and online viewing environments. Rubika modules modify and re-engineer data streams to automate manual processes, enable postal savings, add value to documents (such as TransPromotional and TransEducational applications), and leverage finishing equipment.

"We have expanded Rubika's capability for data indexing by providing the ability to read barcode and OMR content," said Mary Ann Rowan, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Solimar Systems. "The new Rubika Barcode Reader Module enables users to interpret and index the content of graphical barcodes and OMR marks. This allows our customers to use information currently encoded in barcodes to control processing logic needed to further automate their production workflows."

The Rubika Barcode Reader Module is ideal for replacing older barcodes and OMR marks with updated barcodes needed to support downstream finishing equipment or to update existing barcodes with additional information while retaining the original barcode content. This new module can also be used to control other types of print stream modifications such as adding electronic inserts or underlays. Organizations moving to full-color devices can set up a workflow where Rubika reads the barcode and adds electronic inserts, thus enabling them to eliminate pre-printed inserts previously accomplished by inserters.
